Additional controls for community owners

Orkut has come up with two new additional options in community to control misusing your community for creating new topics or polls which shows up at the community home page in topic list and polls list.

These topics of polls can give a bad impression to your community members or even make your community to be removed or deleted. So to keep things under control this two new option can help you a lot.

To enable this options follow this steps:

1. Login to Orkut.
2. Go to your community.
3. Click “edit profile” on your left-hand side.
4. “Under Community features setting” tick “only owner and moderators can create forum topics” and “only owner and moderators can create polls”.
5. Your community is under control now.

Enabling this two new features should given a better control over your community which would keep your community a better place to hang out.

Bug in Orkut Co-owner Community

All the Co-owner of Orkut community please check if you are able to work on your co-owner system. As Orkut Help team is investigating about it and they think there is a bug in it.

Option to Jump Pages in orkut communities is Needed !! YES or NO

Hi all I have come across a problem when using orkut communities and forums. Actually is not a problem but Orkut Team can think for a user-friendly option for this issues which I am and hope many of other orkuttur’s out there are facing….

The issue is that I love reading orkut communities and forums a lot and many of them have long threads which go to 100s of pages or more. There’s the thread where people post nice quotations and you can’t stop reading about it. I would like to read all of them but can’t read it all at once. So if I decide to read first 8 to 15 pages at one go and the rest of them after sometime or tomorrow, then I have to go to the last page where I had stopped reading. So to do that I have to keep clicking Next>> link 15 times... That’s irritating and waste of time. So it would be really great if we can have an option to jump to page 15 directly or some other shortcut to jump pages would be wonderful…

New [ Country wise ] Community Search Feature

Few days back if you all have noticed that the Community Search is working by Country wise. That means if you are from United States and searching for a community it will search that community in your country and then the other country. Before this was searching by Language wise which used to search by the language dose not matter where are you from.

Due to this change of new Community Search Feature many of the orkut user’s are facing lot of problem searching for the communities all over the world. And why shouldn’t they be mad where is the link that the community owner who made a Brazilian football players community should have more fans from Brazil only why not from other country’s ?

" The users are just asking the orkut team why is this Community Search Feature is by Country wise why not Language wise as before? "

I just want to ask the orkut team that

“ Is Orkut a social networking site or not ? If yes then why this Country wise Search ? "

See Deleted Community in Orkut

Orkut is taking the orkut.com Community Standards seriously now days, they are deleting all the community if it violate orkut Terms and Condition like :

1. Report Abuse
2. Users who are under 18 years old.
3. Contain Child pornography.
4. Contain nudity, sexually graphic material.

But now you can see the Deleted Community in your orkut account, to see if any of your joined community is been deleted follow the steps:

1) Login to your orkut account.

2) Click the link Community with is at the top middle side of your page.

3) Click on the Deleted Box

4) Then you can see all the community which have been deleted

Note: This feature is still not active for all orkut users, it will take some time to see this feature in all the orkut profiles
