Guess what guy’s Barcamp Pune is coming back to Pune !! This is the 5th type its been held in Pune on 29th November 2008. To be frank I have never attended it, but always wanted too. So here is my chance to be a part of it.

New Emoticons In Gmail ;-)

Google has added new set of emoticons in Gmail and Gmail Chat (IM conversation). This update had been made few days back.I came to know about this update when I was sending a MSG to one of my friend late night.

The interesting part is that Gmail Chat has less emoticons then in an email. As you can see in the snap-shot below.

New Diwali Theme For Orkut "Fireworks"

Check out the new theme for this Diwali by Orkut "Fireworks" . These are the steps you have to follow(with snap-shots).

  2. Then click Select Theme
  3. Press update button.
• When you click update button, the page will reload. After that you can enjoy the new Diwali Theme.
  
  

Tack Your Gmail Hacker!!!

Yes guys now you can track the hacker who is trying to hack your Gmail account. This is possible with the help of google. If you have notices or not but in your gmail page you have a link Details for Last account activity as shown in snap-shot.

1. Bottom of your gmail page you have a link Details

2. Once you click the above link then you can see the Recent Activities, with Access Type, IP Address and Date and Time of login.

• If you always or most often sign in to Gmail using a single computer, your IP address should be the same, or start with the same two sets of numbers (for example, 172.16.xx.xx).
• If you're seeing an IP address that differs greatly from your usual IP address, it could either mean that you've recently accessed your mail from a different location, or that someone has accessed your mail.
  

3. If some one is using your Gmail at same time then you can see Concurrent session information with Access Type and IP Address. Gmail has given an option called Sign out all other session button which will force the hacker to sign out from your account.

4. After that you will see a link Chang your password, which will help you save it from hacker to access your account again.

5. Now here is the best part, if you want to see from where the hacker was accessing your account, you will just need the IP address of the hacker which can been seen from the 3rd step, just copy the IP address and past in the link below

These are web-site's from where you can find the place or location with the help of IP address.

Note: You can try and search in google for other site too, which can give you the location by IP Address

Small Update ! In Your Orkut Album

If you must have noticed that there is an update in the arrangement in orkut album. This looks great. But the arrangement I think is by Last Update in the album. The orkut team is trying to make orkut look good these what do you guy's say?

Save Your Hacked Orkut / Gmail / Google Account

Few days back one of my friends informed me that his younger brother's Orkut account has been HACKED!!
And he started asking me all type of question, which all us would also think at that time. Like

1. What should I do now?
2. How can I get my account back?
3. How did this happen?
4. And many more…..

Now there few ways you can get back your Hacked Orkut Account which you can try:

1. Inform Your Friends and Relative:

First inform your friends and relative about it, because now the hacker has the control over your account and could do nasty stuff with it.

2. Try Forgot password:

You can try to change your password if you can do it. Yes I know it sounds stupid for this option but if it can be done by the easier way then what’s the harm in it. Most of the time this option will not work.

3. Contact Google:

Yes the last option left is to contact google and inform them about the issue Account Help.( Please read Do Remember Few Things below before filling up the form) Here you have to fill up a form which asks basic question which a valid account holder will know.

1. Which all google products you were using with the google account

2. Last successful login date

3. Last password you remember

4. Account creation date

5. Etc.

Do remember few things before filling up the forms that

1. Fill the form from where you always access the account, because Google will automatically capture your IP address and will help them compare your account.

2. Fill the form as much as you can, that will help them

3. Try to give accurate answers, if not take your time and think before you fill it. Or ask some one close to you who know few answers you need.

4. If you are using many products of google with the same account then PLEASE DON’T fill the form again for other product.

5. And then wait for the reply from google.

Tips For Not Getting Your Orkut Account HACKED

These days may of the user’s come with an issue that there account has been hacked , so I just thought of writing this post which I guess will help all the users at least from there side, not to get there Orkut account hacked.

Few Things which can help you to not get your account Hacked are

Don’ts:

1. Never share your username and password with anyone.
2. Never use the remember password option from a public or shared computer.
3. Never click the script in you scrap from a stranger or friends whom you don’t know personally.( Note: can make a fake id to try the script)
4. Avoid personal data or photos posting in public.

Do’s:

1. Always sign off when ever you have done with your work.
2. Delete the cookies and history when ever you log out.
3. Change the password every month or so
4. If you suspect of anything like you have been added in any community’s that you dint joined then change your password as soon as possible.
5. Please see the Google Account Help form and note all the details which they require RIGHT NOW, so that if in case your account has been hacked then you can give the accurate answer of each and every question.
